PRESERVE YOUR STORIES

Capturing What Matters Most in Saskatoon & Beyond

Your life stories deserve to be remembered. The laughter, the lessons, the love, and the legacy you've built over a lifetime are precious gifts that shouldn't fade with time. At SOS Legacies, I help individuals and families in Saskatoon and beyond to capture, preserve, and share the stories that define who we are. Whether you're planning for the future, honoring someone's memory, or simply want to gift your family with the treasure of your experiences, I'm here to guide you through creating meaningful, lasting legacies.

Why Capturing Life Stories Matters

Every day, precious memories slip away. Family stories are forgotten. Photos remain unorganized in boxes. Voices we love become harder to recall. But it doesn't have to be this way.
Legacy preservation is more than documenting the past—it's creating a bridge between generations. It's giving your children and grandchildren the gift of knowing where they came from. It's processing your own life journey and finding meaning in your experiences. And for those facing end of life, it's creating comfort and connection that lasts far beyond our time here.
I work with families who wish they'd asked grandma about her childhood, with seniors who want their wisdom preserved, and with anyone who understands that some things are too important to lose.

My Approach: Compassionate, Professional, Personalized

Finding your life stories can feel overwhelming. Where do you start? What stories matter most? How do you capture authenticity? That's where I come in.
With specialized training as a Legacy Preservation Specialist, Guided Autobiography Facilitator, Digital Storytelling Facilitator, Photo Manager, and End of Life Doula, I bring both expertise and heart to every project. I understand that these aren't just documents or videos—they're pieces of your soul, your identity, your love.
I take time to listen, to understand your unique story, and to create something that truly reflects who you are or who you're honoring. Whether you're comfortable in front of a camera or prefer the written word, whether you have boxes of photos or just a few cherished memories, we'll find the right way to preserve your legacy.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How long does a legacy project take?
A: It varies by project type and scope. A simple video interview might take 2-3 weeks from recording to final product, while a comprehensive legacy book could take 2-3 months. We'll discuss timelines during your consultation.

Q: What if my loved one is hesitant to participate?
A: It's common! Many people feel uncomfortable being the "center of attention." I'm experienced at creating comfortable environments and often, once we start, people find the process enjoyable and cathartic.

Q: I don't think my story is interesting enough. Is legacy preservation still for me?
A: Absolutely! Every life has value, wisdom, and unique experiences worth preserving. What seems ordinary to you is extraordinary to those who love you and to future generations who want to know their roots.

Q: Can you work with people in hospice or with limited time?
A: Yes. As an End of Life Doula, I'm trained to work sensitively with those facing terminal illness. I can adapt projects to energy levels and timelines, ensuring we capture what's most important.

Q: What happens to my files and materials?
A: All original materials are returned to you safely. Digital files are yours to keep, and I maintain backups during the project for security. Privacy and respect for your materials is paramount.

Q: Do you work outside Saskatoon? A: Yes! I serve communities anywhere through Zoom

The Strangers in The Box
Author: Pam Harazim

Come, look with me inside this drawer
In this box I've often seen
At the pictures, black and white
Faces proud, still and serene.

I wish I knew the people
These strangers in the box
Their names and all their memories
Are lost among the socks.

I wonder what their lives were like,
How did they spend their days?
What about their special times?
I'll never know their ways.

If only someone would have taken time,
To tell who, what, and when,
Those faces of my heritage
Would come to life again.

Could this become the fate
Of the pictures we take today?
The faces and the memories
Someday to be tossed away.

Make time to save your pictures
Seize the opportunity when it knocks
Or someday you and yours could be
The strangers in the box.
